Evidence Action is a global nonprofit organization that implements cost-effective, evidence-based health programs to improve the well-being of people in low-income countries. In Kenya, it has been operational for over a decade and serves as the hub for its East and Southern Africa operations.

🌍 Programs in Kenya

Evidence Action operates two major programs in Kenya:

1. Deworm the World Initiative

• Implemented in partnership with Kenya’s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health.

• Over 62 million deworming treatments delivered since 2012.

• Significant reduction in worm infections: soil-transmitted helminths decreased from 33% to below 5%; schistosomiasis from 18% to under 2%.

2. Safe Water Now

• Provides access to safe drinking water for over 2 million people.

• Maintains nearly 19,000 chlorine dispensers in rural communities.

• Piloting in-line chlorination systems in Nairobi to adapt the intervention to urban settings.
