🌍 CBM’s Work in Kenya

CBM Kenya focuses on several key areas:

• Inclusive Eye Health: Through initiatives like the Vision Impact Project (VIP), CBM aims to reduce avoidable visual impairment and blindness. The VIP is a four-year initiative with a budget of 17 million euros, targeting over 8 million people across ten counties in Kenya. It employs innovative technologies like the Peek Vision app to screen for eye conditions and improve access to quality eye care services.

• Disability Inclusive Community Development: CBM supports programs that empower communities to include people with disabilities in all aspects of life, promoting equal opportunities and access to services.

• Inclusive Humanitarian Action: In times of crisis, CBM ensures that people with disabilities are not left behind by integrating disability inclusion into emergency response and preparedness plans.

• Organizational Capacity Development: CBM works to strengthen the capacities of local organizations, especially Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), to advocate for and implement inclusive practices.

CBM Kenya collaborates with a network of 18 partner organizations across the country, leveraging local expertise to effectively address the needs of people with disabilities.
