The Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), established in 1967, is Kenya’s premier professional body for individuals in the built and natural environment sectors. Objectives

AAK’s objectives include:

  • Coordinating activities of professionals concerned with the built and natural environment in Kenya.

  • Advancing the science and art of planning and building by developing standards of professional education, training, and practice.

  • Creating public awareness by marketing the services of member professions and providing professional opinions on matters pertaining to the built and natural environment.

  • Establishing and accrediting Continuing Professional Development programs for members.

  • Offering community services by participating in the enhancement of the built and natural environment.

  • Liaising with the government and regulatory agencies on matters affecting registration and licensing of professionals.

  • Fostering national, regional, and international cooperation in matters dealing with professions related to the built and natural environment.

  • Maintaining and protecting the heritage of the built and natural environment.

  • Facilitating research and dissemination of information for the advancement of professional education, training, and practice.
