The Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) is the principal government agency responsible for regulating, coordinating, and promoting Kenya’s maritime sector. Established in 2004 through Legal Notice No. 79 and later formalized by the Kenya Maritime Authority Act of 2006, KMA’s mandate encompasses maritime safety, security, environmental protection, and the development of the blue economy.
